Where to buy sheets in the UK from affordable to luxury

A good bed is essential to a good night’s rest, and sheets are essential to a good bed (after the mattress of course!) If you’re in the United Kingdom and on the hunt for sheets that cater to your preferences and budget, you’re in the right place. In this guide, we’ll explore the best options for retailers, no matter your budget. All prices in this guide are based on the cost of a 100% natural fibre double bed fitted sheet. As another note, sheets seldom come in sets here in the UK, and fitted and top sheets are usually sold separately. Perfect for non-topsheet people, but if you prefer a set prepare to double the cost (or more) of the prices listed in here.

Let’s dive into the diverse landscape of sheet shopping in the UK, and find you find the perfect bedding to elevate your sleep experience.

Tesco, Sainsbury’s and Morrisons all sell bedsheets, and they take out the number one position for most affordable, all clocking in under £12. However, they tend not to get very good reviews so best to pick up in person to assess for yourself.

Dunelm

Dunelm is a homewares store that sells just about any kind of home goods that you might need, often at a more affordable price than its competitors. Sheets here range from just £7 to £70 for 1000 thread count Egyptian cotton.

Wayfair

Wayfair is an American based e-commerce store. Their sheets start at £10, and go all the way to £160 for a silk sheet. This is also the cheapest silk sheet on this list, if that’s what you’re after, the downside of wayfair is they don’t have physical stores if you like to touch things before you buy (fair!)

Tk Maxx

As of writing, bottom sheets at Tk Maxx range from £10 to £160. The charm and catch with Tk Maxx is that you never know what deals you might find, so if you have your eye on an upgrade it might just be lurking in the aisles of your local. However, selection is varied and sometimes limited, so maybe not the go-to in a cinch.

Ikea

Good old Ikea. Ikea sheets are incredibly budget friendly and range from £10 (£6.50 if we drop our natural fibre requirement) to a whopping £29. Just 29 for their top of the range bottom fitted sheet. A note on Ikea sheets is that they are made for Ikea (or european) sized beds, which are usually a cm or two shorter than standard beds, which can be fine, just make sure to measure well before you buy.

Marks and Spencer

Marks and Spencers unsurprisingly carry a wide range of bedding from mattresses to throws. Their sheets range from £25 to £105.

John Lewis

John Lewis is probably where your friends told you to buy sheets, and they do have an incredible range (and nice stores). John Lewis is known for its quality and selection so it’s always a safe bet.  The most affordable 100% cotton double sheet was £20, the most expensive was £260

Soak and Sleep

Soak and sleep is an online store dedicated to bedding, bed linen and bed accessories. Their sheets range from £22 to £170 (silk)

The White Company

Homewares store White Company, sells homewares that are primarily white. If you’re a white sheet fan, you’ve found your home, their sheets range from £24 to £350 (silk).

Zara Home

Zara Home sells sheets, both plain and patterned, great for white sheet haters. A double fitted sheet will run you £24 to £370(silk)

Secret Linen Store

Also a primarily bedding store, Secret Linen Store specialises in linen bedding, no surprises there. They are also B Corp Certified, which may help some sleep easier.  Primarily in plain colours, sheets here go from £28 to £109 (linen).

Liberty

Now we’re getting to the good stuff. Famous for their fabric, high end department store Liberty London has their own line of sheets, naturally. They are colourful and patterned in signature Liberty Prints and range in price from £155 to £180.

Harrods

No prizes for guessing, Harrods takes out first place for the most expensive sheet on this list at whopping £456. A Peter Reid ‘Lancaster’ 1000 thread count Egyptian cotton sheet that’s made in England. If that’s a little on the pricey side for you, you can always shlep over to the Ralph Lauren section where a fitted sheet will set you back a mere £109.
